Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir was on target twice to take her international tally to 15 in 22 games while Greta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir weighed in on 85 minutes scoring direct from a corner.

Helgadóttir suspension
It was the first time Iceland had beaten Portugal in four attempts, and was achieved without captain Ásthildur Helgadóttir, who missed the game through suspension. Iceland go level on points with the Czech Republic, six points behind Sweden who have played a game more.

Gudjohnsen to Barcelona?

Spanish sports daily Marca reports that Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard seeks to buy Icelandic footballer Eidur Smári Gudjohnsen if he is unable to acquire Diego Forlan, a player with Villareal.
